Évènement musical de la rentrée : le grand Wolf Mail (CA) se produira au Blues-sphere Bar, rue Surlet 37, 4020 Liège, le mardi 2 octobre 2012 à 20h30.
Wolf Mail tourne régulièrement sur les 5 continents, son album précédent solid ground était classé dans le top 100 des meilleures vente de blues en novembre et décembre 2004 dans les magasins tower record aux USA. Sa précédente tournée mondiale Solid ground a accumulé 596 concerts en 33 mois.
Né en 1972 à Montréal (Canada), il déménage avec sa famille quelques années plus tard dans le sud de la France. En pleine adolescence il immigra en Californie où il résida 15 années. Depuis 2002 il habite en Australie. Wolf Mail est connu par beaucoup comme le champion poids lourd du Blues électrique.
When it comes to the love of music, Wolf Mail is an artist who does not compromise, and it has paid off. The original guitarist/singer and songwriter has managed to build a strong international fan base through 20 years of constant touring and the regular delivery of stellar recordings. The release of his “Live Blues in Red Square” from Moscow, Russia and his classic song “Hello” climbing the Top 10 Japanese chart are examples of that.
From Elmore James to John Lee Hooker, his passion for raw deep blues with a mix of contemporary soul has spawned a very charismatic and distinctive artist. Tom Bramson of Blues Rockers magazine describes it « thus Mail’s guitar work bears the unmistakable marks of SRV/Hendrix/Clapton influences. However, I pay him the ultimate compliment by saying that, though he has obviously been influenced by the normal guitar gods, he bears a striking resemblance to none of them, as his sound is strictly Wolf Mail.”
Wolf Mail is known almost as much for his singing as his sublime guitar playing. The Australian Southern Star Newspaper wrote, “The man has a voice that will raise chicken skin down your back”.
