Mike Wheeler joue du blues depuis plus de trente ans. Son premier concert s’est déroulé avec Lovey Lee, pianiste de Muddy Waters, en 1984.
Dans les années 90’, il se produit avec la chanteuse/bassiste Joan Baby, puis avec Cadillac Dave & The Chicago Redhots, Sam Cockrell & The Groove, Nellie Tiger Travis, Big Ray & Chicago’s Most Wanted, Big James & The Chicago Playboys (5 CD). Il crée ensuite son groupe The Grooveshakers et joue avec Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Shemekia Copeland, Jimmy Johnson, Son Seals, Willie Kent…
